Steven Brough · Founder · 25+ years in Queensland courts
Meet the founder
Sixteen years ago, Steven Brough decided people facing traffic charges deserved better.
When Steven opened the firm in 2010, he kept seeing the same thing: ordinary people facing their first-ever charge, paying big-city prices to lawyers who ran a traffic matter once a month — and walking into court with no idea what was about to happen. He built this firm to be the opposite:
That focus is why we're so well thought of. Our lawyers stand in Queensland Magistrates Courts every week — we know the magistrates, the prosecutors, and exactly what a well-prepared plea is worth. Over 5,000 matters and many five-star reviews later, we're the firm other lawyers refer their traffic charges to.
We know you're worried — about your family, your job, your licence, and what this all means. That's exactly why we exist: to give you honest, clear answers and fight for the best possible result. You don't have to carry the stress alone.
Over the years Steven watched inexperienced lawyers destroy clients' lives — not out of bad intent, but because they simply didn't understand traffic law, didn't know what could realistically be achieved, and had no relationship with the prosecutor or magistrate deciding the matter. A general lawyer who runs one traffic matter a month misses the arguments that shorten a disqualification or save a licence. We only do this, in these courts, every week — and that difference is measured in months off the road and convictions avoided.

4.9 on Google
“Recently used the service of Clarity Law for a traffic offence proceedings. Felt supported through the whole process and the firm was easy to reach and quick to revert back. Really liked the way Jacob Pruden handled it and got me the best possible outcome.”
“Found these guys through Google and so grateful! Assisted with my sons traffic incident so professionally but also so personally. Jacob attended 3 different courts and was so supportive and assuring but also very clear what the process was. Would Recommend Clarity Law 100%.”

Frequently asked questions
Answers before you even pick up the phone.
Will I go to jail for drink driving?
For a first offence, it’s very unlikely. Most matters end with a fine and a disqualification period — and good preparation makes both smaller. We’ll give you an honest range for your exact reading.
